Research and feasibility studies

Bristol PCT (working with Avonmouth and Kingsweston Neighbourhood Partnership)

Vivid undertook research to provide comprehensive and up-to-date data on local needs, and consulted with key stakeholders to produce a report and recommendations about developing a new Community Plan to drive forward the regeneration of Lawrence Weston, Bristol. We also launched a new local network of voluntary and statutory agencies to foster better collaborative working.

Refugee Action
Refugee Action led a consortium project delivering training and advice in Bristol under the government’s Migration Impact Fund. Vivid were contracted at the end of this scheme to research and develop a toolkit for statutory agencies to help them assess their performance and access relevant information and training materials in order to improve their services for refugees, asylum seekers and new migrants. We undertook consultation, developed a diagnostic test and researched resources, producing and piloting a well designed and user friendly resource.

Knowle West VISION
Undertook research into the needs of black and minority ethnic residents to assist this community group to undertake local consultation and develop new services.

National Council of Voluntary Organisations (NCVO)
Undertook the support work in this major South West pilot project – ‘From Asking to Earning’ – to provide lessons on sustainability for the not-for-profit sector.

BBCS Consortium
Undertook a feasibility study into opportunities to develop new workspace for Bristol based BME community groups and small businesses.

Hotwells and Cliftonwood Community Association
Undertook initial development work to establish a new traders network to improve the viability of a Bristol neighbourhood retail area.

University of the West of England (UWE)
Undertook research into family run businesses as part of a larger inter-university study, including identifying and interviewing BME and women entrepreneurs.

Bristol City Council/St Pauls Unlimited Community Partnership
In partnership with BACEN and BEST, undertook feasibility studies and wrote business plans, with the aim of establishing new social enterprises in the St Pauls area of Bristol.

Voscur
Undertook a major income generation feasibility study, including a large-scale consultation of member organisations about membership fees, leading to the successful implementation of new income generation activities.
